Dr. Arinze Agbim holds a B.Sc. and a PhD from University of London, UCL. He has vast knowledge and experience in all aspects of the oil and gas industry following his 25 years with ExxonMobil mostly in Nigeria but with stints in the USA and Southern Africa (Namibia). With a solid background in engineering with a flair for economics and finance, he held field and head office functions as Field Operations Manager, Engineering Manager, Planning Manager, and Executive Director in Nigeria; and as an Energy specialist/Consultant for 5 years with the World Bank in Washington DC United States.
He was a Principal Consultant for Basic Energy Limited (BEL), which was set up in Year 2000, and handles assignments in the areas of oil & gas, energy, finance and economics and carries out technical due diligence assignments on companies for banks and financial institutions. For most of 2008, he held a UK DfID-sponsored position in the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, NEITI (as Acting Technical Director). He was an Adjunct lecturer in Petroleum Economics at University of Lagos between 2010 and 2018.
Currently he is the Vice-Chairman of the Oil & Gas Development Committee in Anambra State. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (FNSChE) and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers Foundation.
