Engr Alexander Ogedegbe is Chairman of the Boards of ILF Consulting Engineers (Nig.) and the current President of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering (NAE) and Gas Terminalling (Nig.) Limited. He graduated with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in chemical engineering from University of Iowa, USA. He has worked in various responsible positions in the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream of the Nigerian oil and gas industry since 1969.
He started his career in the industry in Shell-BP Nig., working as well-site petroleum engineer, operations engineer and reservoir engineer until December 1974.
He joined NNPC in Jan. 1975, where he worked as project engineer/manager in the NNPC refinery projects at Warri, Kaduna and Port Harcourt respectively from 1975-1989. He was the Managing Director of the NNPC Refineries, at Port Harcourt and Kaduna respectively from 1990-1995; Managing Director, NETCO 1996-1999 and the NNPC Group Executive Director, Engineering &Technology (E&T) 1999-2003, from where he retired, at the statutory age of 60years.
He is a past president, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers. He is also a past Honourable Secretary and a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE) Foundation.
